Thanks for lending your voice to this request! This is a fantastic platform, despite its shortcomings. I certainly hope that the lack of this (so far - I’m sure it’s coming!) hasn’t led to too many people jumping ship.
So, long and short, I am totally with you on this need, as are a LOT of people here. If I could copy and paste things like actions from one character sheet to another, that would also speed things up. If I could enter the stats into a text file (whether it was JSON or CSV or whatever), I could dramatically speed up the process. That means that, under the best case scenario, it’s going to take me at least 5 hours to get all of the NPCs from the core book entered. Entering them manually, when I’m really moving, I can enter one NPC every 3 minutes, or so (and sometimes that slows down to more like 5-6 minutes per NPC). From the core book alone, there are almost 100 characters to enter. I play in the Conan system, and I’m trying to build up a compendium of NPCs, manually “importing” them (entering them one at a time) from the core book and all of the various source books. Yes, I think that everyone agrees that this is a shortcoming of the system right now. The positive responses of my players will keep me committed! I honestly wonder how many DM/GMs have just walked away because of this. other, simpler option from actual designersįor me… I just wish I could paste actions (or text equivalent), one time, to fill the action function comprised, currently of Action Title, Message and Sheet Display.‘My Actions’ in Vault with ability to copy into character sheets.Easy copy / paste in ANY format to build out actions within the program (actions have 3x dialogues to fill currently, can not copy/paste between character sheets) JSON is “a way.” Maybe the best way long-term, but in the short-term anything would help:
“Include a feature to quickly build characters to include copy-paste importation of actions” all seem funneled to this somewhat technical sounding “JSON” request - which I think is the main cause of 's surprise. (Many of my players aim to role play, not roll-play and script.) *Unless I missed a tutorial or method!* However, I am disappointed with the limitations to generate characters and copy/paste actions - I am creating a collection of text files to build an actions library… to then copy-paste x3 into character sheets. Love ASTRAL for accessibility, line of sight, soundtrack control, freedom and design principals - paid for the yearly to show the love.
